Handmade Soaps by Yvonne was started because of my experiences with a child who had eczema. The mildness of the soaps I made, was soothing to his skin and didn't take away the natural oils of the skin, the way store-bought soap does. After awhile, our family didn't want to use "store bought" soap at all! Our skin was not as dry in the winter-time when we used my soaps. The first few years of soap-making, I just made it for us and gave it as gifts. Two years ago, the time was right for me to start selling it to other people. It has been a learning experience for me, and I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people at shows and telling them about my soaps! My soaps are made "from scratch", with tallow being one of the main ingredients that I use, along with a few other types of oils. I try to keep them as natural as possible using micas, ultramarines, and pigments to color the soaps and essential oils and fragrance oils to add scent to them. I use oatmeal, poppy seeds, cinnamon, baking cocoa, & paprika from time to time in the different kinds of soap. I have regular bar soaps or a variety of molded soaps available. Last year, I added homespun towels to my inventory as well. Thank you for your interest in my products!
